Pleiades, The Seven daughters of Atlas, Pele ia tei si, Ali’i, A LII, Taurus, The White Buffalo

The #Pleiades, the daughters of #Atlas, the god of endurance and a rebel, and his wife #Pleione: to the #Greeks they were “The Seven Sisters” in the constellation #Taurus, which the #Sumerians knew as the head of ”The Bull of Heaven”. To Polynesians, Nā Lii. To the #Sioux, The White Buffalo.

Classical Greek Language scholars are unsure of the etymology, but reason that the name derived from plein, the Greek word for “to sail”, and the plural suffix -ades meaning “children” (-ad + -es). In this sense, they were The Sea People. Perhaps the Tuatha de Danan. The Fay Folk. The Fe’e Folk. Sā Tagaloa, the family of the squid.

Suppose Sāmoan might offer some clues.

Transliteration:

Ple = Pele

ia = ia

de = tei

s = sii

Morphemes defined:

pele = “beloved”

ia = “these”, “those”

tei = “younger brothers,” “younger sisters”

sii = “to raise up”, “to descend from”, “seed”

Translation:

”These are the sisters who were raised up”

Greek mythology recalls that the Pleiades fled from the giant Orion who was a mighty hunter. The Pleiades feared being violated or worse at the giant’s hands and the Olympian gods, out of kindness for their beloved cousins, raised them up to the heavens where they became stars.

This is precisely what the translation into Sāmoan speaks of. There are additional translations using alternative meanings of each morpheme that speak to most of the additional stories about the Pleiades—their fear of rape “in order to love them, pull them down” (from heaven). Orion is remembered for his unlucky and unruly sexual advances towards the devotees of Artemis in some accounts, and so she kills him.

One of these Pleiades was Maia*.

* Folasa, the fifth Tuimanu’a, an ancient king of Sāmoa, took for his wife a woman named #Maia.

* The #MAYAN calendar begins in August 11, 3114 BCE.

According to research from civil engineer Richard Meehan of M.I.T., 4000 BCE to 3000 BCE saw substantial changes worldwide including floods in Mesopotamia, with evidence buried as deep as 25 feet below sea level.

The Flood (3150 BC) 3150 BC(?). Abrupt cooling at higher latitudes, possibly related to oceanic effects, especially in Northern Europe, corresponding to peak of megalith cultures. Probable oscillation in sea level shortly before 3000 BC followed by 10-15 ft. alluvial deposition in river valleys.”

A world immersed in water would spur on the dramatic development of and require the skills of master seamen. This was a “blue continent“ held aloft by wooden decks and reed craft. 1800 years of perfection of these skills would have meant the Sea Peoples circa 1200 BCE were more than adequately prepared for the challenge of exiting the Mediterranean, entering the Red Sea, sailing onward to the Indian Ocean and then into the great Abyss, the Abzu of the Far East where dwelt Enki, Eā, YHWH, one of the Elohim, and lord of the land and sea.
