In the Māori language /IA/ takes the place of a word meaning “a current“, “a stream”, “the sound made by rushing water”
In Sumerian, EĀ is the god of the sea, and one of his symbols is two streams of water with fish in them proceeding from each of his shoulders.
IA is also a singular tense of demonstrative pronoun such as “That” as seen in “I am THAT I am.”
